AWPA Loses A Good Friend

Spool Image

Max Moore, president of Oklahoma Steel and Wire and active participant in AWPA, died in late May following a mid-air collision while flying his plane home from his plant in Norman, OK. Surviving are his wife, Pat; daughters Sarah, Rachel and Elissa; parents, B.L. and Colleen Moore; brothers Jon and Craig; sister Kathleen; and a wealth of friends and business associates.

Max was a very valued member of the AWPA, serving on the Board of Directors since 1990 and as Treasurer from 1993 to 1996. Max was also a charter member of the policymaking Government Relations Advisory Committee.

While Max's business interests took much of his time, he maintained a devotion to his family and enjoyed acrobatic flying, SCUBA diving and boating. He was a member of the Young President's Organization, the International Aerobatic Club and the International Council of Air Shows.

Max will be sorely missed for his straightforward point-of-view, his active involvement in AWPA's most important issues, his humor, and most of all his enthusiasm for his company and the wire industry.
