Kurt Orban Founder Dies

Kurt Orban Partners sadly reports the passing of our founder and Chairman Kurt Orban. He died February 8 of cardiac arrest at the age of 89.

A steel import pioneer, Kurt traveled the world forging relationships that introduced into the US market wire rod from a myriad of countries, including Europe, Asia, Russia, Germany, Japan and India. He was a 40-year member of the Wire Association and a founder of the Kurt Orban Founder Dies.

American Wire Producers Association. Mr. Orban was also an avid sportsman who played on the 1945 US Olympic field hockey team, hiked mountains worldwide, snow skied and played a mean game of tennis.

He is succeeded at Kurt Orban Partners by his son, Matt Orban, who has been active in the business his entire life. He is survived by his wife Cathy, and his other children Robert, Robyn and Jon.
