Kurt Orban Founder Dies
Kurt Orban Partners sadly reports the
passing of our founder and Chairman
Kurt Orban. He died February 8 of
cardiac arrest at the age of 89.
A steel import pioneer, Kurt traveled
the world forging relationships that
introduced into the US market wire rod
from a myriad of countries, including
Europe, Asia, Russia, Germany, Japan and
India. He was a 40-year member of the
Wire Association and a founder of the
Kurt Orban Founder Dies.
American Wire Producers Association.
Mr. Orban was also an avid sportsman
who played on the 1945 US Olympic
field hockey team, hiked mountains
worldwide, snow skied and played a mean
game of tennis.
He is succeeded at Kurt Orban
Partners by his son, Matt Orban, who has
been active in the business his entire life.
He is survived by his wife Cathy, and his
other children Robert, Robyn and Jon.
