William E. Hitchcock, Jr., 86 of Branford, Connecticut, passed away on December 12, 1998 in his Naples, Florida home. A founding member of the American Wire Producer's Association, Hitchcock retired as president and CEO of the Atlantic Wire Company at the age of 70. He also served as the President of the Fine Wire Association, Washington, DC and the Director of the Wire Association, Guilford, CT.
Hitchcock graduated from Tabor Academy, Marion, MA in 1929 and Dartmouth College in 1933. He served as a board member of the Hopkins Grammar school and as Chairman of the Board of Tabor Academy. He was the husband of Janet F. Hitchcock and survived by his four children and his sister. He also was survived by seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
