The General Session is a must-attend event for Operations Managers. Among the important topics being covered is:
- a safe behavior audit program developed by Insteel Industries;

The day before the General Session presentations, attendees
will tour the Georgetown Steel mill, which is credited with pioneering the use of Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) in the electric arc furnace. At Insteel Industries' Andrews plant, attendees will see a hydrochloric acid cleaning house, twenty drawing machines, a galvanizing line, the nail mill (including mechanical nail galvanizing) and the collated nail facility.
Finally, in the perfect way to end the event, AWPA has organized the first Operations Manager Golf Tournament at Dunes West Charleston's newest nationally acclaimed golf facility, ranked by both Golf magazine and Golf Digest as a "Top Ten New Resort Course".
