AWPA Honors Long-Time Member of Wire Industry
AWPA extends its heartfelt congratulations and thanks to Trevor Greenwood who recently retired from the wire industry after over 50 years of service. Trevor began his career in 1952 with Smith Wires in Halifax, UK, part of the Hawkins & Tipson
Group. Having progressed through the production and technical areas to external sales, he ultimately became Sales Director for the group.
In that capacity, Trevor spearheaded the company's push to establish sales of fine wire in North America, building up some strong relationships along the way. He maintained this position and responsibility until the wire side of the business was
taken over by the Arthur Lee Group in the early 1980s.
Trevor then moved to the technical sales department at Titan Steel & Wire in 1984, bringing a new edge to product development. Along the way he became General Sales Manager and ultimately Vice President of Sales before his formal retirement in
May of this year. He continues to provide strong support to the Titan organization as a technical consultant.
Not only was Trevor a leader in the wire industry, but he also had time to play rugby for Halifax RUFC from 1957 to 1967, race motor cars in the UK, and was a very talented squash player. His focus in retirement is to score less than 100 on the
golf course and spend more time relaxing with his ever-patient wife Jo.
Thanks Trevor!
NAM Staff to Change
Jerry Jasinowski, President of NAM, recently announced that he will retire next fall. He will surely be missed in this high-profile position, but he still has a year to go representing manufacturers nationwide.
In another change, Richard E. Dauch, one of the most prominent names in US auto manufacturing as co-founder, chairman and CEO of American Axle & Manufacturing, was elected the new NAM Chairman during the NAM's Board of Directors meeting. Dauch
succeeds Archie Dunham, Chairman of ConocoPhilips.
