The NAM released another TradeFact in their series of one-page fact sheets. This one states that over 80% of our trade deficit is with countries with which we do NOT have trade agreements. It explains that while a lot of people say bilateral trade agreements, such as NAFTA, are the cause od our huge trade deficit - the facts speak otherwise. While the six countries with which we have bilateral trade agreements (Canada, Chile, Israel, Jordan, Mexico and Singapore) account for more than one-third of our trade, they account for only 18% of our trade deficit.
