Tree Island Acquires IWP Pomona, CA Facility

Tree Island Industries, a leading producer of wire and wire products, such as nails, agricultural fencing, barbed wire, concrete reinforcing materials, welded and woven wire lath, industrial wire and spring wire in the US and Canada, has acquired Industrial Wire Products (IWP) of Pomona, CA.

IWP is one of the leading manufacturers in the western US of stainless steel and carbon steel drawn wire, cold-finished steel bars, welded-wire fabric, collated nails and other types of related wire products. The materials are used in a variety of industries as diverse as aerospace, communications and construction.

Tree Island's President and CEO, Ted Leja, said, "IWP, a private company with a solid reputation for making quality materials in southern California that stretches back to the 1930s, has been owned since 1978 by an extraordinary man who is well known in the US steel products industry ? Marshall Bull. Now, after more than 30 years at the helm, and most recently as its chairman, Marshall has determined that this company will best thrive if it joins forces with our firm. We intend to continue with his vision, which we share. Pete Cronin, currently President, will continue his leadership role at IWP." Pete also serves as the elected President of the AWPA.

Leja added, "The combined resources, management, talent and technical expertise of IWP and Tree Island will help us to better meet the demands and challenges of our markets, and the specific requirements of our many customers on an individual basis.
