AWPA Government Relations Advisory Committee (GRAC) Update: Leadership Transition

Amy DeArmond has been appointed Chair of the GRAC, and takes over this month from H Woltz, who has served as Chair since 2018. AWPA thanks H for his leadership over the past few years, through a complicated and challenging time. He will continue to serve on the GRAC, so AWPA can benefit from his experience and expertise.

Amy has extensive experience in the field of government relations, through her position as Director of Government Relations for Leggett & Platt and takes over as AWPA is considering action in USTR and ITC investigations.

Amy DeArmondAs Director of Government Affairs for Leggett & Platt, Amy has oversight of legislative and regulatory issues on the federal, state, and local levels, economic development, government contracting, international trade, and philanthropy.  She joined L&P in 2004, after graduating from Missouri Southern State University with a degree in business, and has experience across corporate finance, M&A, public reporting, and a variety of other areas.  Amy serves as Director and Vice President for the local United Way, provides voluntary advocacy for several non-profit organizations, and is active in her church.  She and her husband, Eldon, live in Southwest Missouri with their 16 year old daughter, Devyn, and two dogs, Peanut and Nadine.

Amy is enthusiastic about moving the AWPA government relations agenda forward. “The AWPA has the knowledge and reach to be an important voice for policymakers, and I look forward to working even more closely with the Government Relations Advisory Committee and membership to help develop our strategic plan moving forward.”
