2019 Annual Meeting

Welcome and Wine Tasting for Spouses and Companions – Wednesday, February 20 – 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm

Spouses and companions are welcome to join Kerry Johnson for a Wine Tasting drop-in on Wednesday afternoon, from 3-4 pm. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet old friends and new and try out some new wine and cheese pairings. Stop by, have a glass of wine and connect with other AWPA spouses/companions. There is no additional fee for spouses/companions to attend.

 

Spouse/Companion Brunch – Thursday, February 21 – 9:00 am to 10:30 am

The spouse/companion hospitality event will be held on Thursday morning. All spouses and companions are welcome to attend brunch, to meet and mingle with other attendees. It’s a great opportunity get to know other attendees, and then make plans to head out to explore the town for the afternoon or participate in the Golf or Fishing Tournaments! The fee for spouses/companions to participate in this brunch is $55.

 

Golf Tournament - Thursday, February 21 – 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm

This year’s Golf Tournament will take place at the Dunedin Golf Club designed by world renowned golf course architect Donald Ross. When you tee off, you follow in the footsteps of some of the greatest golfers of all times: Ben Hogan, Bobby Jones, Bobby Cruickshank, Byron Nelson, Cyril Walker, Gene Sarazen, Louise Suggs, Sam Snead, Tommy Armour, Walter Hagan, the great Babe Zaharias and Patty Berg from the LPGA.

 

The tournament fee is $260 per person. The fee includes lunch, green fees, cart, driving range, practice balls, transportation to and from the course and a world-class golf experience. The format is a shotgun, scramble tournament so that golfers of all skill levels will enjoy the event. There is a dress code of appropriate golf attire – collared shirts are required, and no denim is allowed. Metal spikes are not allowed. When you register, please indicate handicaps for you and your spouse/companion, if s/he will be participating in the tournament. They are welcome and encouraged to participate. Foursomes will be arranged based on your handicap and include both wire producers and suppliers. Please select right or left-handed clubs during registration, if rentals are needed. Prizes will be awarded to the top foursomes, and longest drive and closest to the pin at designated holes.

 

Fishing Tournament – Thursday, February 21, 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Head out on a comfortable 51 ft. luxury sport fishing boat for an afternoon of fishing on the beautiful Gulf of Mexico. Everything necessary will be provided, including cold beverages and snacks. Prizes will be awarded for largest fish, smallest fish, and most fish! The tournament fee is $260 per person.
