Congressional Visits Are Vital
It's time to go back to the Hill! After after a 3 year hiatus, we will be holding congressional visits again this year. It's time to reconnect with our legislators - many of whom are new since our 2019 visits. In order to have an impact, members must educate their legislators about the industry and important issues and encourage them to influence government policy on your behalf. Your participation is vital to ensure the level of turnout that will make an impression on your legislators. With the current challenges facing the industry, the information you will provide is more essential than ever.
All you need to do is choose Congressional Visits when you register, and AWPA will make appointments and provide materials for your visits.
Preparation for Your Visits:
On Spetember 14th, at 3:30 pm, we will have a webinar in advance of the meeting to review what things are like on Capitol Hill now, effective techniques for advocacy, and go over the issues and talking points so everyone is familiar with the materials.
On Thursday, September 22, you'll be paired up with others who have facilities in your districts whenever possible, and will have materials and talking points to assist you at the visits. We make it easy for you to advocate for our industry. Take advantage of this opportunity and head to Capitol Hill this fall with AWPA.
