Derivative Products Added to 232 Tariffs

On August 15, 2025, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) announced that coverage of the Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum products will be extended to 400 additional derivative products, effective for imports which are entered or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after August 18, 2025.

The Section 232 tariff rate of 50% for imports from all countries (except the United Kingdom, which has a 25% tariff rate) will apply to these additional derivative products.

The list of additional covered HTS codes is here.

Customs guidance on the coverage is here.

Note that the value of the steel content of the derivative products is NOT subject to reciprocal tariffs, but the value of the non-steel content is subject to reciprocal tariffs.

We are monitoring this and will provide updates as available.
