Tri Star Metals, LLC has announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Global Specialty Steel, a distributor of specialty steel and alloy wire based in Alsip, Illinois. The acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of October 2026.

The acquisition will bring together the manufacturing, distribution, technical, and sales capabilities of Tri Star Metals, Siri Wire, and Global Specialty Steel, strengthening their ability to serve customers across the specialty wire industry.

Following the acquisition, Global Specialty Steel will continue operating as an independent distributor under the leadership of Joe Owoc, who will remain President and join the Tri Star Metals Executive Committee.

The companies anticipate expanded product offerings, increased inventory availability, and access to additional manufacturing and distribution resources. Tri Star Metals also plans to invest in Global’s inventory of music wire, galvanized wire, oil-tempered wire, chrome silicon, and other carbon wire products.
