Rep. Diane Black (TN-06) Visits Insteel’s Gallatin Facility

Black1US Congresswoman Diane Black, Representative from Tennessee’s 6th District, toured Insteel Wire Products in Gallatin, TN on June 30, 2015. Insteel Wire Products Company is a subsidiary of Insteel Industries Inc., the nation’s largest manufacturer of steel wire reinforcing products for concrete construction applications.

Congresswoman Black visited the Gallatin, TN facility after meeting the company’s president, H. O. Woltz III, in Washington DC where they discussed US policies with respect to international trade and government regulation. Woltz also described to the Congresswoman the company’s proprietary manufacturing processes and its long history in Gallatin during which there have been many positive contributions to the community and local economy.

Insteel Wire Products’ General Manager, Ricky Wooten, led the tour, explaining plant processes and highlighting its world-class manufacturing capabilities.

“I appreciated the opportunity to visit with Ricky Wooten and his talented team at Insteel Industries in Gallatin,” said Congresswoman Diane Black. “Insteel has assembled a knowledgeable staff that explained to me in detail how they use chemical and mechanical processes to pre-stress steel wiring in order to make it stronger. During our time together, we had a substantive conversation about how policies in Washington impact Insteel’s ability to grow and hire more workers. Insteel is an important economic engine in our region and we are fortunate to have them as part of Tennessee’s 6th Congressional District.”
