The AWPA has been tracking Section 232 Product Exclusion Requests, Objections and Decisions in the Bar, Rod and Wire sector. These include products of Carbon, Alloy and Stainless material.
By the Numbers
- 12,215 Product Exclusion Requests were posted, as of September 4, 2018
- 1597 Objections to Product Exclusion Requests were posted, as of September 4
- 2564 Decisions posted as of September 18:
- 1110 were Granted
- 1454 were Denied
In 14 cases where multiple requests were submitted by the same company, some of the requests were Granted and others Denied for the same or similar products. There were no Objections filed in all of these instances.
- 2743 Requests opened for Rebuttal beginning September 11 and closing on a rotating schedule through September 28.
When Objections were filed:
Of the 1110 Requests that were Granted, only 34 Requests had to overcome posted Objections. Those included Stainless Rod, Carbon Rod for CHQ, Stainless Wire for hose reinforcement and Alloy Bar.
Of the 2564 Requests that were Denied;
- 1234 Had NO Objections
- 220 Objections were filed
