AWPA Seeks Volunteers for Environmental, Health & Safety Committee
The American Wire Producers Association (AWPA) is seeking operations professionals from member companies to serve on the Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Committee. The committee plays a vital role in helping AWPA and its members stay informed, prepared, and engaged on environmental, workplace safety, and health regulations impacting the wire industry.
The EHS Committee serves as AWPA’s technical and regulatory forum for identifying emerging Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) issues, sharing compliance best practices, supporting industry advocacy efforts, and helping member companies navigate evolving regulatory requirements. Committee members also contribute to the development of EHS-related educational programming for the AWPA Operations Managers Meeting.
Participation on the committee includes:
- Quarterly virtual meetings
- One in-person meeting held during the AWPA Operations Managers Meeting
- Collaboration on EHS educational programming and industry resources
The committee is open to representatives from AWPA member companies in good standing, including Active Members, Rod Mill Members, and Supplier Members. Professionals involved in environmental compliance, occupational safety, operations management, risk management, or regulatory affairs are encouraged to participate.
Through the EHS Committee, AWPA members remain proactive on regulatory developments, coordinated in industry responses, and informed about evolving compliance obligations affecting the industry.
Members interested in joining the committee or learning more are encouraged to contact AWPA staff at info@awpa.org.
