Register for the Govt Affairs Conference Today – the USMCA Needs Your Voice

The passage of the US-Mexico-Canada trade agreement will not make the Congressional agenda before the August recess, making your voice crucial on Capitol Hill this fall. This development means September will be a key time to advocate for the USMCA to Congress, and prevent it falling into the bottomless chasm of election year politics. As of May 2019, Canada and Mexico are the United States largest trading partners, just edging out China. With the uncertainty created by 301 tariffs on Chinese imports, and Chinese retaliatory tariffs, that edge may grow. Canada and Mexico now buy more US-made goods than our next 11 trading partners combined.

The USMCA agreement:

  • Creates stronger intellectual property rules to protect manufacturing
  • Expands US manufacturing’s ability to export products abroad, ensuring manufacturers can sell their products duty free and eliminating red tape at the border that often hinders small- and medium-sized businesses
  • Levels the playing field for US manufacturers by raising standards, improving transparency and prohibiting anti-US discrimination from foreign governments

The fall meeting is also a great opportunity to check in with colleagues and customers, and find out how others are dealing with the uncertainty (chaos?) created in the market by tariffs. Join the AWPA in Washington, DC this September, to hear about the USMCA from the experts, and speak up for your company and the steel wire manufacturing industry, on Capitol Hill.

Register today – discounted registration and hotel room reservations end on August 18.
