Webinar – The Climate-Trade Nexus: A Policy Primer for U.S. Wire Producers

Please join us for a webinar on November 29 at 2pm Eastern to examine the increasing intersection of climate and trade policy. We will discuss efforts by governments around the world to address climate change using trade tools – for example, assessing import fees based upon emissions intensity – and related challenges and opportunities for carbon-intensive manufacturers in the United States. In addition to the European Union’s recently-launched Carbon Boarder Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), the webinar will provide an update on similar policies being considered by other trading partners and allies, the status of the bilateral U.S.-EU Global Arrangement on Sustainable Steel and Aluminum, and some nascent legislative efforts in the United States Congress.

Our guest speaker will be the Climate Leadership Council’s (CLC) Catrina Rorke. Catrina is senior vice president for policy and research at the CLC and serves as executive director of its Center for Climate and Trade, which is working to align global market incentives with international climate goals. Catrina is a leading expert and a trusted voice on energy and climate policy and has previously worked on these issues for several think tanks as well as on Capitol Hill.

This webinar is open to representatives of AWPA member companies only and registration is required.
